Movies of the week
Stuck-up ranga critic here, writing about the two films I have seen in the past week, which are Tron: Legacy and The King's Speech. I shall start with the movie you have actually heard of.
The visuals are hypnotic, the fighting is cool and the music is excellent, but the story was lame, and the world just felt... empty and lifeless. I wasn't really attached to the universe, and I was constantly wondering why they made the film, as the original didn't make lots of money and frankly it wasn't a masterpiece either. Maybe Disney just ran out of creativity? Anyway, the movie is one big lights show.
The story is rather predictable, but the superb performances and interesting history lesson make it an excellent film. Colin Firth plays the stuttering King George VI, who enlists the help of Aussie Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush) to help overcome his linguistic problems. The film is generating lot's of Oscar's buzz, but to be honest I think it is a tad overrated. A wonderful film nonetheless.
